Connecting with the mission
Next up in our Employee Spotlight Series is Operations Executive, Natalie North.
Natalie joined Sprout.ai in May 2022, bringing hands-on insurance industry experience from her previous role as a claims handler. Having seen the challenges of traditional claims processes first-hand, Sprout’s mission immediately resonated with her.
“The claims process as a handler is often slow and manual, but Sprout gives insurers the opportunity to streamline claims and resolve them faster and more accurately.”
Natalie had also seen the impact inefficient claims processes could have on customers.
“As a claims handler, I saw how delays could negatively affect customer experience and lead to more complaints. Sprout is helping solve that problem by improving both speed and accuracy in the claims journey.”
Beyond our mission in the insurance market, Natalie was also drawn to the supportive and dynamic environment at Sprout.
“I was attracted to Sprout because of the culture. It’s a fast-moving environment where everyone is encouraged to make an impact and contribute directly to the company’s success.”
Building experience across the business
Since joining, Natalie has progressed from Claims Automation Analyst to Operations Executive, gaining exposure to multiple areas of the business along the way.
“With an operations role, you often wear many different hats, which has given me exposure to lots of different parts of the business, including sales, product, and people.”
That cross-functional experience has helped Natalie develop a broader commercial understanding of how teams work together to drive success.
“It’s helped me build a stronger commercial mindset and better understand how different functions collaborate to move the business forward.”
For Natalie, one of the most valuable aspects of working at Sprout is the openness and collaboration across the team.
“Being surrounded by people who are always open to sharing ideas has made it a great place to grow and develop my career.”
Accelerating learning and development
Continuous learning has been a key part of Natalie’s growth at Sprout.ai.
Through hands-on experience, mentorship, and access to development opportunities, she has expanded her skillset across a wide range of disciplines.
“Having access to a dedicated learning and development budget has been really valuable because it allows me to invest in training and resources that directly support my career progression.”
Natalie also used Sprout’s learning and development support to complete her Chartered Insurance Institute exam.
Alongside formal development opportunities, the pace of working at Sprout has accelerated her day-to-day learning.
“Being in a fast-paced environment means there’s constant exposure to new challenges, which has helped me develop skills across areas like marketing operations, data management, campaign execution, and process improvement.”
A collaborative way of working
One of the biggest things that stands out to Natalie is how collaboratively teams operate across the business.
“People don’t tend to operate in silos. There’s a real willingness to share context early, involve the right people in discussions, and work through problems together rather than passing them along.”
That shared approach creates an environment focused on outcomes and impact.
“It feels like a very open and pragmatic way of working, where the focus is on solving problems together and delivering outcomes rather than getting stuck on formality.”
Most valuable lesson
For Natalie, the biggest lesson she has learned at Sprout reflects one of our core values: being Hungry for Growth.
“I’ve learned that growth really comes from being willing to try new things, ask questions, and get involved in areas you might not have worked in before.”
That mindset is something she plans to carry with her throughout her career.
“That willingness to step outside your comfort zone and keep learning is something I’ll continue to carry forward in my career.”
